Amitabh Bachchan stays true to his words; gifts Prateeksha to Shweta Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan has gifted his bungalow Prateeksha worth crores to daughter Shweta Bachchan after discussing it with wife Jaya Bachchan. The sale deed was signed on November 8 this year. It is the same bungalow where the intimate wedding of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was held. The name of the bungalow was given by Big B’s father Harivansh Rai Bachchan and was the first big properties ever possessed by the veteran Bollywood superstar.

However, this move by the superstar is not at all surprising as the Brahmastra actor seems to have stayed true to the words that he said on a reality show years ago. Amitabh Bachchan has been a strong supporter of gender equality and repeatedly has said that no difference should be made between a son and daughter when it comes to giving love or property.

In one of the episodes of Kaun Banega Crorrepati, the star of the millenium had said that all his assets will be equally divided between his daughter and son. And now the superstar has ensured that what he said publicly comes into action. Even during the promotion of Pink, Amitabh Bachchan had written an open letter for his granddaughters Navya Naveli Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan telling them not to bow down to the wishes of the society and carve their own way and identity.

He is an endorser of gender equality since many years and have been promoting Beti bachao, Beti padhao campaign for the last so many years. So for those who knows about the views of Senior Bachchan this move did not come as a surprise. However, there have been speculations that this decision has caused a rift between Bachchans and Aishwarya as she was spotted alone celebrating her birthday with daughter Aaradhya and mother Vrinda and even skipped Diwali functions at home.
