Was a courtesy visit or something big cooking? Seculations have gathered steam a day after Tollywood actor Junior NTR called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting took place at Novotel Hotel in Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in Hyderabad.

Junior NTR, who is basking in success of SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster hit RRR, is quite popular in the south and has a wide fan base across the country.

Junior NTR’s meet with Shah has triggered speculations as even several BJP state leaders were unaware about the meeting, sources said. However, the leaders believe that the meeting which lasted for 15-20 minutes will certainly create a buzz and will have positive outcome in near future as well.

Though the purpose of the meeting is not clear, Amit Shah tweeted, “Had a good interaction with a very talented actor Jr NTR in Hyderabad.”

Shah called Jr NTR as ‘the gem of our Telugu cinema.’

The meet has caught everybody’s attention as the saffron party is trying to strengthen its base in Telengana. It is unclear whether Jr NTR is keen to venture into direct politics or not. Fans believe it will certainly be the actor who will decide on it. However, at present they are loving his work through films and they will be happier if anything like this happens.

It is pertinent to mention here that the actor is the grandson of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder, former chief minister and legendary actor NT Rama Rao, who was popularly known by his initials NTR. Moreover, Junior NTR had campaigned for N. Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP in 2009 but stayed away from active politics. Despite speculations, he did not campaign for TDP in 2014 and 2019.
