Amid Javed Akhtar’s criticism Triptii Dimri calls Animal a great experience

Animal, released last year emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2023. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie featured Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Bobby Deol in important roles. Although it was a huge blockbuster the film also received a lot of backlash for its violence and misogynist approach.

Javed Akhtar has repeatedly slammed Vanga for directing a movie like Animal. Talking about the same, the legendary writer and poet said, “In the south also, he (the hero) is turning into a caricature. Now he is the kind of man who wants a woman to lick his shoe. He is already starting to turn into a caricature of an angry young man or a strong man.”

Now Triptii Dimri who rose to fame with Animal and played the character of Zoya in the movie in a recent interview made a statement that indicated that she has taken the criticism in her stride and indirectly defended her film. Talking about the criticism that the movie has faced, the Bulbbul actress said, “It was a great experience. Yes, a lot of criticism also came along with it. But I think it’s a part and parcel of the game. And every actor has to go through it.”

Animal was a huge movie and next, the fans are eagerly waiting for its sequel. Sandeep Reddy Vanga has already said that the sequel titled Animal Park will very much happen. The lead star cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika, and Triptii Dimri will reprise their earlier roles.

Talking about the sequel, Triptii told Variety, “For now, honestly, I’m as clueless as the audience is, I don’t know when it will start or what’s the story, I just know that it’s going to happen when I don’t know.”
