He holds the record of having the highest number of movies in the Rs 100 crore club. However, did you know that one of the biggest hits ever of Salman Khan was rejected by Allu Arjun and Aamir Khan? Well, the film is Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan, based on an original story by screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad, remains one of the most loved films of Salman Khan. His captivating performance won the hearts of moviegoers. Moreover, Harshaali Malhotra and Nawazuddin Siddique's character portrayals majorly contributed to the film's success.

The story is based on Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi, a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman and Munni, a lost girl from Pakistan, with speech and hearing impairment. The journey of Pawan from rescuing Munni to setting out to Pakistan to reunite her with her family, made the audience emotional. It proved to be one of the best movies of Salman Khan.

However, Salman was not the first choice for the lead role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

According to media reports, Kabir Khan approached Aamir Khan with Bajrangi Bhaijaan. However, Mr Perfectionist had some changes in mind but the filmmaker didn't agree with it. Thus, the PK actor rejected the offer. Later, the script was reportedly offered to Tollywood Icon Star Allu Arjun, who is creating waves globally with his recent release Pushpa 2: The Rule. However, Bunny also rejected the offer due to his prior commitments. Ultimately, the role landed with Salman Khan, and the rest is history.

Made on a budget of Rs 90 crore, Bajrangi Bhaijaan's domestic box office collection was Rs 320.34 crore and the worldwide box office collection was Rs 922 crore. With its glorious box office performance, Bajrangi Bhaijaan made its place among the highest-grossing Indian films.
