Alia Bhatt to team up with RGV? Varma hails 'Sarkarini' as Jigra star vows to become Amitabh Bachchan!

The much-awaited teaser of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt's upcoming Jigra dropped today and fans are going gaga. Fans and her colleagues hailed the Brahmastra actress for her powerful performance. A pivotal moment in the teaser shows Alia wanting to become the "Amitabh Bachchan" of the story. In the very next frame, she emerges from a tanker with various weapons and tools in her hands. Well, Alia's action-packed avatar seems to have impressed renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. Hailing the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress, RGV dubbed her as the SARKARini. 

Alia's stellar performance as fiercely protective sister who is ready to go to any lengths to rescue her imprisoned brother (Vedang Raina), has impressed the audience and filled high excitement.

While fans are flooding social media with praises for Alia's versatility, RGV took to X and wrote, "Just F**KING WOWWW..Hey @Vasan_Bala am bowled over with ur teaser and @aliaa08 is exuding power like a SARKARini”. (sic)

Well, this has triggered speculations that RGV and Alia may join hands for a project in future. 

RGV has carved a niche in the Indian Film Industry with several blockbusters. RGV is popularly known as a trendsetter in the industry. Varma often explores themes of crimes, politics, and social issues with intense storytelling and dark humour. His groundbreaking movies includes the Sarkar franchise, starring Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role.

Now that Alia has taken the vow to become "Bachchan" in Jigra and has showcased her fierce performance, and RGV dubbed her as SARKARini, the possibilities of the supertalents joining forces might not be ignored.

Released on Sunday, the Jigra teaser trailer was infused with intense emotions. The teaser shows Alia, in a messy ponytailed avatar, narrating her life story to Manoj Pahwa's character. She reveals that her father died by suicide after her mother died. Since then, she and her brother have been orphans. For this reason, she's sworn to protect him, the only family member she is left with. It goes on to show her on a mission to rescue her brother. 

As it seems, the movie is like a prison break drama where Alia's character travels to a country far from home. She wants to break into a prison and get her brother out.

Helmed by Vasan Bala and written by Vasan Bala and Debashish Irengbam, Jigra is set to hit the big screens on October 11, 2024.
