Since her debut, Tabu has done some offbeat roles and never was the one to do those regular romantic or lovey-dovey characters. Be it Cheeni Kum, Hu Tu Tu or the very recent Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, this Hyderabadi actress broke all the rules but still managed to be at par with her contemporaries.
In 2018, it was Andhadhun and now after the theaters opened post the pandemic, BB2 and Drishyam 2 once again established that Tabu can bring alive any character on the screen. Both these movies have been the biggest hits of 2022.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's grand return to the big screen
Ever since her daughter Aaradhya was born, the beauty queen has been taking it easy when it comes to working in the movies. In the last 10-plus years, she has appeared in a very few movies and most of them were women-centric films like Sarabjit or Fanney Khan.
The Taal actress returned to the big screen in 2022 after a long gap with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1, and mesmerized the audience with her stunning performance as the lead antagonist. PS1 is among the top 5 hits of this year.

Alia Bhatt as Gangubai surprised many
Gangubai Kathiawadi can be said to be a big hit in the times when many Bollywood movies were not doing good and the industry was just coming out of the effects of the lockdown. Although it carried the name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali which is more often enough to drive the audience to the theaters, Alia Bhatt as the brothel head surprised many.
The movie not only did well at the box office but was also loved on the OTT. Alia Bhatt also turned producer this year with Darlings which hit the OTT and was appreciated by many for its dark comedy.
Her long-awaited movie Brahmastra 1 with Ranbir Kapoor emerged as one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2022.
Rashmika Mandanna’s career soared with Pushpa1
Pushpa: The Rise was one of the biggest pan India hits of 2022 and Rashoo as Srivalli was loved by the audience. Her last release on OTT titled Goodbye received a mixed response, but the stupendous success of Pushpa 1 ensured that Rashmika gets big projects in Bollywood.

Kiara Advani continued her excellent run
The Shershaah actress enjoyed another good year in Bollywood in 2022. While Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 was a big hit, another movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo with Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor also did well at the box office.
