Bollywood's star couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan's divorce rumours have been doing rounds on the internet for quite a while now. Recently, the diva turned 51 and the entire Bachchan family skipped wishing the birthday girl on her special day which has intensified the buzz further. While netizens have pointed out several instances hinting at their separation, Aish and Junior Bachchan are still mum over the matter. Amid this, here we bring an interesting anecdote when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan declined an offer to work with Shah Rukh Khan for her husband Abhishek Bachchan.

A decade back, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone teamed up for Farah Khan's Happy New Year. The movie also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah. However, it is lesser known that Aishwarya was approached for a role in the movie.

During an interview with NDTV, Aish disclosed that she turned down the offer for her husband.

The Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam actress was quoted as saying, "Yes, I was offered the film, and it did seem like quite a fun trip. I knew we would have a blast doing it, and it was going to be a fun experience."

However, despite the excitement, she declined the offer after learning that she wouldn't be paired with her husband. "We wouldn’t be cast opposite each other. It would be really, really weird, right? That’s why I had to decline it," she added.

Amid the divorce rumours of Abhishek and Aishwarya, the old video clip is going viral on social media.
