  • Prashanth Neel has said that KGF has been inspired by Big B and Sholay.
  • Earlier Yash also said that the essence of KGF and its heroism has been inspired by Amitabh Bachchan.

The unexpected, massive success of KGF has turned it into a big franchise. And now, its sequel is all set to hit the theaters on the 14th of April. The team is promoting KGF 2 across the whole of India as it is going to release across the country and worldwide. Importantly, the promotions in the northern belt are getting a very good response with many theaters confirming advance booking in a big way. During one of the promotions, Prashanth Neel opened up about the KGF and its character Rockybhai being inspired by Amitabh Bachchan.

Throwing light on the same, the director said that the 70s and one man in particular-Amitabh Bahchan shaped the way he thinks about doing movies. According to Neel, one thing that Big B and Sholay taught to every Indian filmmaker is that it is possible to make Hollywood-style movies with Indian emotions. The director of KGF 2 also said that he never thought about making a movie like KGF so earlier in his career but the impact stayed with him and he made the larger life story with human emotions intact.

Prashanth Neel revealed the only selfie that he has ever taken is with Ramesh Sippy who happened to be staying in the same hotel where the director was staying. He also said that KGF was not planned earlier as a two-movie franchise but budget constraints forced them to divide it into two parts.

A couple of days ago KGF 2’s lead star Yash who is playing the iconic Rockybhai had said that he does not like remakes of Amitabh Bachchan and they should be left as they are. He said that the essence, heroism, and belief system of KGF were all inspired by Big B but have nothing to do with the movie he is doing.

KGF Chapter 2 will release in 5 languages including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam.
