Nitesh Kumar Sahoo

Bollywood music composer and singer Adnan Sami has carved a niche for himself in the Indian music industry. Though Adnan was a native of Pakistan, this British-born musician worked and gained name and fame in India with a massive fan base.

He first arrived in India on March 13, 2001, on a visitor's visa with a validity of one year. However, later in May 2015, he applied for Indian citizenship which was granted in 2016. Adnan Sami was conferred with the Padma Shri Award, India's fourth-highest civilian award, in 2021.

Since Adnan was granted Indian citizenship, several Pakistanis have targeted him and trolled him for leaving Pakistan. Even after several years, Pakistanis don’t leave any chance to troll him. Even several minor politicians criticised him. On the other hand, Adnan has never stayed behind in contempt of Pakistan.

On Monday, Adnan posted a thread of Tweets that read: “Many people ask me why I have such contempt towards Pakistan. The hard truth is that I have absolutely no contempt towards the people of Pakistan who have been good to me. I love everyone who loves me- period.”

He further wrote: “However, I have major issues with the establishment. Those who truly know me will also know what that establishment did to me for many years which ultimately became one of the big reasons for me to leave Pakistan.”

“One day, soon, I will expose the reality of how they treated me which not many know, least of all the general public which will shock many! I have remained silent about all this for many years, but will choose the right moment to tell all to the world…” he wrote.

These Tweets come after a user targeted him through a Tweet, which was later removed.

But, Adnan replied to the troll, and said: “Tum minorities ki baat karne ki jurrat matt karo! Jo haal tum logon ne kiya hai minorities ka Pakistan mein, Jinnah bhi tum logon pe thooke ga dekh kar!!”

This tweet means, “Don't you dare to talk about minorities! What you people have done to minorities in Pakistan, even Jinnah would spit on you people after seeing this.”

Well, Adnan has always been loved as a human being as well as a top-notch musician. Be it his first song in Bollywood, 'Tu Sirf Mera Mehboob' or Lift Karade, Tera Chehra, Saathiya, Sun Zara or Bhar Do Jholi Meri. The list of his hit songs as a composer as well as a singer is quite long. These songs still remain in the playlist of music lovers. Undeniably, Adnan is loved and will be loved forever by Indians, no matter what is his origin or the citizenship he holds.
