The Jannat fame actress Sonal Chauhan seems to join the star cast of Adipurush. Baahubali fame Prabhas is in the lead role of Lord Rama in this magnum opus mythological drama. Bollywood's Nawab Saif Ali Khan has been cast as Ravana-the demon king.
The anxiety of Bahubali fans is blowing over the rooftop as the much sought after film has been locked up for release in the first month of next year on January 12. The adrenalins pumped a bit higher recently when a buzz on Adipurush dominated the air.
Actress Sonal Chauhan, who went on to garner the attention of cinegoers with her excellent acting in Jannat opposite Emraan Hashmi and Buddah... Hoga Terra Baap along with Sonu Sood and Amitabh Bachchan, has been roped in for Adipurush.
Though there is no official confirmation from the makers, the buzz has taken the social media by storm where reports talk about Sonal featuring in the star cast along with the likes of Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan.
"Yes, I’m a part of #Adipurush and I’m excited about it. It’s a very different world from the kind of work I’ve done so far. I am sure the audience will enjoy the magnum opus that is Adipurush.” Sonal was quoted as saying.
Sonal's Role?
With the actress confirming, speculations were rife about her role in the mythological drama. Will she step into the shoes of Ravana's wife Mandodari or she will be seen as Laxman's wife Urmila or any other mega role?.
Even as dozens of questions fill up the air, all have to wait for an official announcement regarding the actress' role in the movie.
Making her debut in 2008 with Jannat as an actress, Sonal has worked in over 16 movies till date. She was last seen in F3: Fun and Frustration starring Venkatesh, Varun Tej and Tamannaah in a cameo role.
Apart from Hindi movies, the actress has worked in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies as well. Of all those movies, 2017 Telugu movie 'Dictator' crowned her the Most Promising Actress.
Acid Test For Prabhas?
After rocking the silver screen as Baahubali, Prabhas has a leaner run in the movie world when his recently released movie 'Radhe Shyam' proved a whimper in the box office.
In order to showcase that he is the 'Baahubali' of the box office, 'Adipurush' is being seen as a re-launch pad for Prabhas.
Adipurush is a cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana that will present Lord Rama as a normal human, and not as a divine with screen name Raghav. Saif's screen name will be Lankesh. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon will be seen playing the character of Janaki while Sunny Singh will be seen as Laxman.
By now, all are aware that the Baahubali fame Prabhas has wrapped up his shooting for Adipurush in November first week, last year.
After the poor performance of Radhe Shyam, fans have high hopes from 'Adipurush' Prabhas. The south star is currently one of the busiest actors of Indian cinema with a line-up of movies like Salaar, Project K and Spirit.
