Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan
The trio of Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan will turn 60 this year, Aamir, SRK, and Salman were born in the same year- 1965. While Aamir will celebrate his 60th birthday in March this year, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will hit 60 in November and December 2025 respectively.
It is an important landmark in the lives of all three Khans as well as for Bollywood.
In the last few years, all three Khans have slowed down. While Aamir Khan has been doing one movie every year or for many years, he took a long sabbatical after back-to-back flops- Thugs of Hindostan and Laal Singh Chaddha. He will soon be back with Sitare Zameen Par and the fate of this film may decide what Aamir will plan next. Nonetheless, he will continue to produce good movies like Laapata Ladies that received appreciation from both critics and audiences.

Shah Rukh Khan gave some big hits like Pathaan and Jawan in 2023 but he is not getting younger and is now focussing all his attention on establishing the careers of his children- Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan. He will be next seen in King which will launch Suhana Khan in Bollywood.
Salman Khan on the other hand has not delivered a big hit in the last few years. Although Tiger 3 did well it was all because of the hype created by the earlier two movies from the franchise. He desperately needs a big hit and currently is working with AR Murugadoss for Sikandar.
Interestingly, all three Khans now do not seem to be convincing and at ease doing all those action scenes and sooner or later will be forced to take up character roles although in the lead similar to Amitabh Bachchan or Dilip Kumar in Piku and Karma respectively.

The first era of stardom in Bollywood included the trinity of Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, and Dev Anand. They ruled the Hindi film industry for many years and later on it was Amitabh Bachchan who became the first ever big superstar of Bollywood. But all these actors had a decline in their careers and went on to choose different roles as character actors, directors, or producers as their peak period came to an end.
The stardom phase of the trio of Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan , and Salman Khan has already started waning, and just as other superstars slowly faded they too will have to move aside and make place for new actors. While they may continue to work for another few years as lead actors after turning 60, new actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, and now Vicky Kaushal have already started surpassing them.

The end of the Khan Era will not end Bollywood because the movie industry of India is very big and new talents have always kept it afloat. However, there is a strong possibility that with the end of the era of superstars, content will become the king once again. Better scripts and direction may become more important than the actors since the taste of the audience has now started changing in a big way.
New types of scripts and topics will take center stage like Gangs of Wasseypur, Masaan, and 12th Fail which will be more focused on delivering quality content instead of depicting the heroism of the lead actor.
