Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan is called a perfectionist. He is considered one of the most intelligent and versatile actors in Bollywood. While at the start of his career, he did some romantic and even nonsensical movies, over the years his inclinations shifted to doing and even producing more meaningful flicks like Lagaan and Dangal.
He is one of the very few actors who have accepted that at times women have been objectified and wrongly presented in his films and that he does regret that.
Almost 20 years ago, Aamir Khan during one of his interviews made a startling statement on the use of sex and violence in the movies. According to the superstar, “Ah there are a few emotions jo bahut easy hote hai audience mein provoke karne ke liye. These emotions are violence is one of them, and sex is another. These two emotions are the easiest to provoke in a human being. Toh woh directors jo creatively itne they are not so talented in creating a story, in showing emotions, in creating situations, they depend heavily on violence and sex to make their films work.”
“Woh sochte hai ki hum agar bahot jyada violence dale, bahot jyada sex dale film mein toh usse hamari film kamyab hogi. Mere hisab se yeh bahot hi galat thinking hai. Ho sakta hai kai dafa woh kamyab ho jaye yeh karne se lekin it harms the society very much. And I think that’s the very wrong thing to do,” the Laal Singh Chaddha actor added.
This interview of Aamir Khan is 20 years old, and it still holds the same value in the current atmosphere of movies.

In the same interview, Aamir Khan said that people who are in cinema are morally responsible at least to a certain extent. He believed that the youngsters who watch such movies definitely get affected by such films. What he said decades ago seems to be coming true now that violent, aggressive movies with sexy dance numbers and vulgar choreography have started becoming the new normal.
Be it the violent depiction of Ranvijay Singh in Animal or toxic behaviour of Kabir Singh or even the raunchy, vulgar dances of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in Pushpa movies, the directors have definitely taken the help of sex and violence to ensure that the flick attracts the audience to the theaters in huge numbers.
