  • Aamir Khan's back-to-back flops have brought back memories of Amitabh Bachchan's debacle.
  • Will the Dhoom 3 actor rise again like Shahenshah?

Laal Singh Chaddha’s massive debacle in India has affected the stardom of Aamir Khan and even may put a dent in his pocket as the movie has not been able to recover even half of the money invested to date. The Dil actor does only 1 movie in a couple of years and usually focuses all his attention on its script and ensuring that he portrays the character perfectly well. This decision to work only on one movie at a time has worked well for him earlier.

But now things have started going against him. Thugs of Hindostan which had a stellar star cast of Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif apart from Aamir himself and a big production house like YRF to back him was a super flop. And now Laal Singh Chaddha has also been declared a dud at the box office.

And this has brought back the memories when Amitabh Bachchan’s all big movies from Jadugar, Toofan, and even Khuda Gawah failed at the box office and he was left penniless as his ABCL Corp become bankrupt. It’s a history of how Big B faced the situation, urged Yash Chopra to give him work as an actor, and became the first superstar ever to appear on the small screen with Kaun Banega Crorepati.

From his wife, Jaya Bachchan to many other industry friends believed that this move of turning a host for a television reality show can be dangerous for his already ailing career as an actor. However, this was the gamble that worked in favour of the Senior Bachchan and he continues to host the show even today and has been able to restore his financial status as well.

While Amitabh has battled a lot of issues including a health scare, and a stint in politics followed by the Bofors scam, Aamir Khan has only to worry about his production house and his career as an actor. His situation is not as bad as Big B who had crores of debt on him, but he certainly needs the right kind of strategy to bounce back with a bang.
