Aamir Khan refused to launch son Junaid Khan as he 'didn't want to fool audience,' criticizes himself for...

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan during his recent appearance on Rhea Chakraborty's podcast, revealed several things that are quite shocking for many. From refusing to launch his son Junaid Khan to blaming his performance for Laal Singh Chaddha's debacle and Kareena Kapoor Khan replacing Rhea Chakraborty in the movie, he said it all.

Junaid Khan did it all on his own after Aamir refused to...

Aamir Khan's eldest son Junaid Khan recently made his Bollywood debut with the Netflix film Maharaj. Though it was his debut movie, Junaid shined with his impeccable performance. Stepping into the shoes of Karsandas Mulji with much-needed conviction, his compelling dialogue delivery kept the audience engaged. Junaid and his costars played their parts exceptionally well, brought authenticity to their roles and won everyone's heart.

However, Junaid's father, Aamir was unsure about his son's acting skills. Thus, he refused to launch Junaid as he didn't want to fool the audience.

During the podcast with Rhea Chakraborty, the Sarfarosh actor candidly admitted that he initially didn't believe Junaid would be a good actor. Further, he also said that before Junaid made his debut, he made it clear to his son that he would not produce his films.

Aamir said, "I have seen him before he learned acting, and he wanted to learn theatre. When he told me that he wanted to be an actor, I was like ‘sure,’ but I also thought that he would be compared to me as soon as his first film was released."

Further, he added, "The tag of being Aamir Khan’s son can’t be removed from him, and he will have to carry this burden. Because of this, I wanted to ask him if he was sure. I wasn’t sure that Junaid would be a good actor. He was very shy, and I was also very shy, so only I know what I can do, but people around me would laugh at me and say that I could never act."

Aamir admitted that he warned his son Junaid that he would not be able to help him if he wasn't a good actor.

Aamir added, "As a son, you might feel, ‘Arrey, aap mere liye film produce kar do,’ voh mujhse hoga nahin. Agar aapko kaam nahin aata to main aapke saath film produce nahi kar paunga. Main apni audience ko dhokha nahi de sakta hoon (As a son, you might feel that I should produce a film for you, but I won’t be able to do that. I can’t fool my audience).”

Well, Junaid understood and accepted his father's stance. Aamir revealed that people couldn't identify Junaid as his son as he is much taller than his father. Junaid faced a lot of rejections while auditioning and finally was locked in for Maharaj. Aamir proudly said that Junaid has done everything on his own.

Aamir Khan responsible for Laal Singh Chaddha's debacle!

Aamir Khan was last seen in 2002's Laal Singh Chaddha, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan. Helmed by Advait Chandan, the movie was the Hindi adaptation of Hollywood movie Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks. While Forrest Gump was a blockbuster, Laal Singh Chaddha failed to impress the audience.

During the same podcast, Aamir blamed his poor performance for the movie's failure. He openly admitted that his performance was lacking and that he wasn't up to the mark. Revealing his self-assessment of his performance, Aamir said, "My performance as Laal Singh was pitched higher. But the original film was a hit. The reason behind that was that although the writing structure of Forrest Gump was not mainstream, Tom Hank's performance was brilliant. My performance let the film down. My understanding is that my performance was  not good."

Further, Aamir admitted that he has learned a lot from the 'failure' and that his performance in the next film will be better.

Soon after the clip of Aamir's self-assessment surfaced on social media, netizens hailed Mr Perfectionist for owning up to LSC's failure, which is uncommon when it comes to superstars like Aamir Khan.

Kareena Kapoor Khan wasn't the first choice for Rupa D'Souza in Laal Singh Chaddha!

Apart from Aamir, Kareena played a major character in Laal Singh Chaddha as Rupa D'Souza. However, Bebo wasn't the first choice for the character. Before Kareena was locked, Rhea Chakraborty had auditioned for the role. Revealing about it on the podcast, Aamir shared that he was impressed with Rhea's screen test.

Aamir said to Rhea, "Aap screen test ke liye aayi thi. Bahut acha screen test tha aapka (You came for the screen test. It was really good.)"

Meanwhile, Rhea shared that she was surprised after receiving the rejection message from Aamir. She also admitted that she had never encountered such a gesture from any other filmmaker or actor. When she showed the message to her family members, they reassured her that Aamir had acknowledged her talent.

Well, Aamir recalled his early days in the industry when after auditions, he learned about the rejections through media. He further emphasized that actors should be informed directly about the rejections.
