7 Khoon Maaf

In this Vishal Bhardwaj-directed movie, Susanna, played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, tries to find love and can do anything for it. As the story unfolds, Susanna marries 7 men and all die mysteriously. Based on Ruskin Bond’s story, the movie is quite off the road to contemporary movies.

Dear Zindagi

Dear Zindagi is the story of Kaira, played by Alia Bhatt, who despite having a perfect life as a budding cinematographer, fails to find the true purpose in life. Then Kaira meets an unconventional thinker, who helps her find the path by accepting imperfections. The story depicting life’s complexities is a must-watch.

Aligarh

Based on the life of a professor at Aligarh Muslim University, Ramchandra Siras, this movie challenges societal norms. It showcases the sting operation on the professor to see if he is gay. Eventually, he got suspended on the grounds of morality. However, a journalist helps him win the case against the university and get his job back. 

Kathal

Starring Sanya Malhotra, this movie is light-hearted and quite hilarious.
