After Rocking Star Yash's KGF Chapter 2 went on to register a monstrous record, another Kannada movie 777 Charlie has swayed movie lovers across the globe leaving an ever-lasting impression in the minds and the hearts of all.

It was not just the content that was extremely appreciated; rather the movie emerged as another blockbuster for its unique story. Moreover, the Kannada flick also set the box office on fire crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. 

The movie, featuring Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty hit the theatres on June 10 and received amazing reviews pan-India for its moving narrative and extraordinary storyline.

The Rakshit-starrer adventure comedy-drama, based on the relationship between a dog and his owner, has minted over Rs 100 crore at the box office globally, which made it one of the most profitable ventures in the Kannada film industry in 2022. 

Winning the hearts of the audience across the globe, 777 Charlie is still running in theatres even after 60 days of its release. The worldwide gross collection of 777 Charlie has made it the third highest-grossing film ever from Sandalwood, just behind Yash-starrer KGF's two installments.

As per reports, 777 Charlie's worldwide box office collections exceeded the Rs 100 crore mark. The total collections are as follows: 

Karnataka - 78.23Cr
Kerala - 4.84Cr
Tamil Nadu - 4.36Cr
Andhra Pradesh/Telangana - 4.67Cr
Rest of India- 5.74Cr
Overseas - 7.88Cr 

What makes 777 Charlie outstanding?

777 Charlie is not just like other movies involving a dog... it's different. The movie is all about emotions. Rakshit's film Charlie proves the saying, 'if you want someone to love you forever, just pet a dog, feed it and it will be around you forever.' People, especially those who are pet parents, definitely take home a bunch of memories after watching 'Charlie'.

Considering how heart-touching '777 Charlie' movie is, overall, actor Rakshit, also the co-producer of the film, has done a terrific job by showing the bond between a man and a dog. And, the breathtaking performance of the four-legged canine (Labrador) is just amazing and he will instantly win your hearts.  

With a simple plot, the storyline of 777 Charlie follows Dharma (the character played by Rakshit), a loner reclusive man who lives for no fun. His life revolves around having idlis, going to the factory, and boozing away his nights. But, when the vivacious Charlie, the four-legged lead star of the film waltzes into Dharma’s life, giving the lonely man a new perspective toward his life.

Rakshit, who is known for his nonlinear storylines and exploring urban legends in Kannada cinema, has done an extraordinary job, especially his acting and bonding with the labrador.

777 Charlie, written and directed by Kiranraj K also stars Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, and  Bobby Simha as other prominent actors in the film.

Craze of Charlie gripped common people & cops

Following the stupendous success of 777 Charlie, multiple pet sellers across the country experienced a  spurt in sales of the particular breed after the release of the movie. 

On the other hand, police in Karnataka’s Mangalore city inducted a new sniffer dog and the police department hosted a special ceremony to honour the female dog named after the Labrador seen in the movie. The department bought the dog for Rs 20,000 and it will join the city police’s dog squad after six-month basic training.
