Sidharth Shukla’s untimely death on September 2 has once again revived the memories of Bollywood stars that shocked the world with their sudden exit from this world. Most of these deaths have been controversial and hugely discussed on social media platforms but remain unsolved and mysterious.
Parveen Babi
The famous Bollywood star of the big screen who ruled the hearts of the young minds during the 80s with her spectacular performances in Shaan, Kaala Patthar, and Namak Halaal was found dead in her apartment in 2005 by police officials after people in her neighborhood suspected something wrong after she didn't pick up her newspaper and milk for four days. The actress struggled with mental disorders and diabetes and died of multiple organ failure.
Divya Bharti
Divya Bharti died a tragic death at a very young age of 19 years when she was at the peak of her career in Bollywood. The Shola Aur Shabnam actress reportedly fell from the balcony window of her flat in Andheri in 1993. She was declared dead at the Cooper hospital and the cause of death was said to be internal bleeding and head injuries. While speculations were adrift that the actress was killed or may have committed suicide because of her earlier fight with husband Sajid Nadiadwala, all such reports were rubbished by the police due to a lack of proof.
Jiah Khan
Jiah Khan was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her Mumbai apartment in Juhu in 2013. She was reportedly dating Sooraj Pancholi and had written a six-page suicide note addressing her boyfriend and some friction between the two. That was why Sooraj was taken into custody a few days later but was released on bail. Now, the case has been transferred to CBI at the request of Rabia Khan, mother of the Ghajini actress.
It has been 8 years since Jiah Khan died but the case is yet to be solved.
Sridevi
The superstar of Bollywood died on February 24, 2018, due to accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room in Dubai. Her autopsy revealed that the 54-year-old superstar suffered a cardiac arrest in the bathtub while her husband Boney Kapoor waited in the room for her to get ready for dinner as they were dining out. Incidentally, the post mortem report did not hint at anything suspicious. Nevertheless, since the death of Sridevi, theories of Boney Kapoor or some other people creating situations leading to her death have been making rounds.
Her death to date continues to be a very big mystery for her fans.
Sushant Singh Rajput
SSR’s shocking death on June 14, 2020, rocked the nation as the entire entertainment industry, especially the big names in Bollywood, were targeted by the actor’s fans. He was found hanging to the ceiling fan in his room. But it is yet to be established whether he committed suicide or was murdered.
Debates on nepotism, trolling and slamming star kids, and discussions and series of accusations followed on television. From drug linkups to murder angle, and from CBI, NCB to ED, to innumerable theories, almost all possible angles and investigation establishments in the country have been associated with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
While the family of SSR has filed a case against SSR’s alleged girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, nothing has been proved yet. Both Rhea and Showik are currently out on bail after they were arrested earlier in a drug case connected to Sushant’s death.
