Kaun Banega Crorepati completes 21 years on television. Apart from the legendary hosting by Amitabh Bachchan, the show is also well known for making its participants crorepati within a few hours if they are lucky and intelligent enough to give all the right answers. Over the years many Indians have won crores of rupees through this show. So who are these winners and what are they doing now?

Harwardhan Nawathe was the first crorepati of this show who was studying for the civil services exam when he participated in Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 1. After winning the amount Harshavardhan went to the UK for higher studies and today is a senior employee in a multinational conglomerate company.

Brajesh Dubey from Guna was the second crorepati who won 1 crore in the second season. Engineer by profession he is the son of former national hockey umpire K N Dubey and is currently enjoying good life and career with his family. Unfortunately, no one could win the topmost award in the third season.

The fourth season winner was Rahat Taslim who was from a Muslim, middle-class family. She was married at a young age due to family pressures and went on to win Rs 1 crore. With the winning amount, she opened a garment business in Giridh, Jharkhand.

By the time Sushil Kumar came as a contestant on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 5, the amount had been increased to Rs 5 crore. He was studying to become an IAS officer. After winning the huge amount this man from Bihar lost his balance and indulged in the wrong company and made some bad decisions. However, he has now come out of the bad phase and is working as a teacher. Anil Kumar Sinha from Kolkata also won a crore each in the fifth season.

In the sixth season, Manoj Kumar Raina won Rs 1 crore. The Railway employee had said that he would like to go back to his native place in Kashmir and build a home with the winning amount.

In this season Sunmeet Kaur Sawhney became the first woman to take home Rs 5 crore on Kaun Banega Crorepati. The aspiring fashion designer started her own apparel brand in Delhi in collaboration with her friends with the winning amount. At present, she is married to actor Manmeet Singh and lives with her two daughters in Mumbai.

In the seventh season a young girl, Firoz Fatima won Rs 1 crore and had said that she would like to use this money to repay the loan that her family took for the treatment of her father. There is no update about her as of now. Taj Mohammed Rangrez, a teacher also won Rs 1 crore in the seventh season in which the maximum prize amount was increased to Rs 7 crore but no one won the highest amount.

The first contestants to win the highest amount of Rs 7 crore were Sachin and Sarthak Narula who won Rs 7 crore in the eighth season. The Delhi-based residents used the money for the cancer treatment of their mother. Currently, both of them are doing business in Delhi.

In between Season 8 and Season 9, there was a gap of 3 years. The only contestant to win a crore in the 9th season was Anamika Majumdar who used the winning amount for her NGO. Binita Jain won a crore in the tenth season and used the money for the Dental Clinic of her son.

Ajeet Kumar, a resident of Hajipur won 1 crore in the 11th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. At the time of the 11th season, he was preparing to become jail superintendent and had managed to fulfill his dream.

Gautam Kumar Jha, Babita Tade, Sanoj Raj were other contestants who became Crorepati last season. This year Nazia Nasim and IPS officer Mohita Sharma each have one Rs 1 crore.
