Actor Vikrant Massey is riding high on the success of his recent release 12th Fail. Helmed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the movie was based on a non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma (IPS). After 12th Fail broke the stereotypes and emerged victorious, Vikrant has been in talks with several filmmakers. While Vikrant’s fans must be eagerly waiting for the announcement of his next, the Haseen Dillruba actor has picked his first script after 12th Fail.
As per an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, Vikrant has come on board for Ekta Kapoor’s yet-to-be-titled socio-political thriller. If the reports are anything to go by, the story is based on a shocking true story that shook the nation in the early 2000s and changed the political scenario in India.
The untitled movie will be helmed by Ranjan Chandel, who is popularly known for his web series ‘Grahan.’
Pinkvilla quoted a close source to the development as saying, “Ekta Kapoor is excited to bring forth this story to the big screen. While there have been several debates on the episode over the years, none has braved to make a film on this subject.”
Further, the source added that Ekta, being a risk taker, has decided to back this story and bring it to the manifestation.
Talking about Vikrant’s excitement, the source said, “The script has not just excited him (Vikrant) on the creative front, but also the actor in him. As it has scope to deliver another strong and layered performance.”
The source revealed that the full script is ready and Vikrant, Ekta, and Ranjan have had multiple meetings over the last few months and are ready to take the film on floors within the next few months.
The movie will be produced under Balaji Motion Pictures and the casting for other characters is underway. The makers will probably make an official announcement for the same soon. The pre-production work has already started and acting workshops will begin shortly.

After earning fame on the small screen, the actor has come a long way and has been winning the hearts of movie lovers with his powerful performances.
