Kangana Ranaut is one actress who has repeatedly and openly slammed the star kids as well as Bollywood’s A-listers for giving them opportunities even though they are mediocre or very poor artists. The Queen has always maintained that the bigwigs in Bollywood always favour these star kids even though they lack talent and are nowhere near as talented as those from the outside world.
Kangana Ranaut strongly believes that Bollywood has given repeated opportunities to the star kids even though they lack the level of talent required to become an actor on the big screen.
During one of her early interviews, the Fashion actress said, “In logo ka kaisa hai ki industry evolve hui. Inke bacche bahar hi padhne chale jate hai. English mein hi baat karte hai. English filme hi dekhte hai. Aur matlab yehi ki kaate churi ke sath hi khate hai. “
Then she sort of mimicked how the star kids talked in Hindi with an American accent and added, “Jab aap aise baat karte hain toh kahan se aapko desh mein kya chal raha hai pata chalega? Woh log toh dekhne mein bhi aise lagte hai jaise ki uble huwe ande. Toh matlab unka look pura change ho gaya toh log relate nahi kar paa rahe hai. I don’t mean to troll them par log relate nahi kar paa rahe hai.”
And that can be why star kids like Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, and Khushi Kapoor who debuted with The Archies failed to get acceptance from the general public. For any actor to succeed in Bollywood or any other Indian film industry he/she must know about the Indian culture, the likes and dislikes of the audience in general, and what is expected of them.
Although it is a fact that Indians ape Hollywood and the US in many ways, in their films, the audience still loves to see Indian themes, and stories rooted in their culture.
