As millions of UPSC aspirants are all set to sit for their prelims exam in May, we bring to you the success story of Zainab Sayeed, who scored the highest marks in the UPSC interview round.

Zainab Sayeed, an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia has a record of securing 220 marks, out of 275 in the UPSC interview. The young bureaucrat scored the highest marks in the interview round in the last 8 years of UPSC.

As per DNA India, no candidate has been able to break the record of Zainab since 2014. A resident of Kolkata, he had secured 731 marks in the written examination and secured 107th rank in 2014.

Zainab is popularly known among UPSC aspirants for her sheer determination and devotion. Zainab did her English Honours at St. Xaviers College and went on to complete her post-graduation in mass communication from Jamia in 2011 before starting her preparation for UPSC.

Later, she appeared for the Civil Services exam in 2012 and 2013 but was not able to clear the prelims round.

Instead of giving up, she set a target, studied hard, and achieved her goal. She gave her best performance and secured AIR107. Now, she wants to encourage and set an example for other women to make it big in life.

Zainab’s father is a Kolkata-based hardware businessman while her mother is a homemaker. Zainab also has a sister who is running her own consulting firm after completing her B.Tech.
