She was only 21 years old when she cracked the UPSC with an All India Rank (AIR)-438 and was selected to join the Indian Police Service (IPS). However, it was her dream to become an IAS officer. So, she retook the UPSC Civil Services Exam and secured an AIR-105 to become an IAS officer.

Interestingly, Divya did not seek any coaching to crack India’s toughest exam but was completely devoted to self-studies and revision. The remarkable journey of IAS Divya Tanwar is nothing short of inspirational.

Born in Mahendragarh of Haryana, Divya attended government schools during her early education. Thanks to her brilliance, she was later chosen to attend Mahendragarh’s Navodaya Vidyalaya. After her Class X, she pursued Plus II and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science, a report in DNA India stated.

However, she knew from a very young age that UPSC was her call. Soon after her graduation, she began her preparation. Despite financial constraints, Divya never let obstacles come in her way of UPSC preparation.

Things had gotten worse after her father’s death. The family had to go through unwanted problems due to financial crunch. However, amidst the entire struggle, Divya never gave up and instead took it as her stepping stone.

As Divya’s mother could not enroll her in coaching, the brilliant mind made sure to focus on self-studies. She understood her mother’s plight and never complained about it. Her hard work paid off and Divya cracked India’s toughest exam in her very first attempt.

Although she qualified for IPS, her mark was not enough for her to become an IAS. Instead of being disheartened, Divya appeared for the second time and successfully qualified for IAS. Divya attributes her success to consistency, hard work, and a positive mindset.

Apart from being an IAS officer, Divya is a social media sensation who enjoys immense popularity on Instagram. She has more than 97K followers on photo-sharing apps and often treats her fans and followers with motivational content.
