Has the National Testing Agency (NTA) postponed the UGC NET exam 2022? Such confusion prevailed after one such notice claiming to have been issued by NTA was doing rounds on social media.

However, a fact check by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) found that the viral notice is fake. This has provided some relief to the aspirants who were in a dilemma following circulation of such fake notice.

The fake notice claimed that, “The NTA will be conducting the UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor on 12, 13, and 14 August 2022. It further claimed that the Computer Based test had been postponed due to certain reasons.”

The PIB fact check revealed that no such notice has been issued by the NTA.

With such fake notices doing rounds on social media ahead of the crucial examinations, the candidates and aspirants need to be vigilant and always depend on information shared by concerned authorities on official websites only.

Earlier, the NTA had released the admit card for UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles). The first phase examinations for the merged circles were held on several dates in July. The second phase exams are scheduled to be held on August 12, 13, 14 August 2022. The candidates should always visit the official websites to get latest updates.
