NTA UGC-NET
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the dates for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET), December 2024.
Candidates can check their eligibility to apply on the official website of NTA -https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in/. The application process is valid till December 10, 2024. However, the aspirants will be able to pay the intimation fee till December 11, 2024. The correction window for making changes to the application form will be valid from December 12 to December 13, 2024.
The purpose of the exam is to assess the eligibility of candidates for positions in PhD, JRF and Assistant Professor in recognised universities. This exam is held twice a year, during June and December.
The UGC-NET is scheduled to be held from January 1 to January 19, 2025, in 85 subjects. The examination of UGC-NET December phase will be conducted only in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
The application fee is varied for different categories of candidates. For General or Unreserved candidates, the application fee is Rs 1150. However, for General EWS and OBC NCL candidates, the intimation fee price is Rs 600. Additionally, for SC/ST and Third Gender applicants will need to pay an amount of Rs 325.
Previously, the UGC-NET exam conducted in June 2024 was abruptly cancelled the day after it was scheduled, following widespread concerns about the integrity of the exam. Speculation about a possible question paper leak and other procedural irregularities led to a massive backlash from aspirants. This led to the re-conducting of the June exam in September 2024.
