The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Saturday issues guidelines for students who will be participating in the upcoming global FinTech event, "Infinity Forum", which is being organised by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).

The event will be held on December 3 and 4, 2021 in virtual mode. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Forum on December 3.

This year the United Kingdom, Indonesia and South Africa are participating in the event as partner countries.

The Forum will focus on three keys themes:

-FinTech beyond boundaries with governments and businesses focusing beyond the geographical boundaries in the development of global stack to promote financial inclusiveness.

- FinTech beyond Finance by having convergence with emerging areas such as SpaceTech, GreenTech and AgriTech to drive sustainable development.

- FinTech Beyond Next with focus on how Quantum Computing could impact the nature of FinTech industry in the future and promote new opportunities.

“IFSCA is offering an opportunity to students to develop and submit Call for Action papers on (i) Policy recommendations emanating out of various sessions at the Infinity Forum and (ii) suggestions on themes and sub-themes for discussion at Infinity Forum 2022,” the UGC letter read.

Guidelines for Participating students:

i. Students would need to register their participation at InFinity Forum website by November 30, 2021.

ii. Upon receiving the registration link, participating students should log in and attend all sessions of the InFinity Forum on 3rd and 4th December 2021.

iii. Post event, participating student should develop a succinct 'Call for Action' papers capturing the following:

- Policy recommendations emanating out of various sessions at the InFinity Forum 2021

- Suggestions for themes and sub-themes for discussion at InFinity Forum 2022

iv. Submit the statement, not exceeding 800 words, by lSt December 2021 to email ID 'finance@ficci.com' clearly marking 'InFinity Forum: Students Call for Action Statement' in the subject line.

v. All submissions by students would be screened and valid submissions would qualify for an e- Certificate of Participation issued by IFSCA.

vi. The entries will be further shortlisted, and 100 best entries would be awarded an eCertificate of Appreciation issued by IFSCA.

vii. A Selection Committee constituted by IFSCA will identify top 30 finalists from the 100 shot-listed.

(a) The finalists ranked 1-5 would receive a prize money of Rs.25, 000 each.

(b) The finalists ranked 6-15 would receive a prize money of Rs. 15,000 each.

(c) The finalists ranked 16-30 would receive a prize money of Rs. 10, 000 each.
