The University Grants Commission has announced that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission in Undergraduate programs in all UGC-funded Central Universities from the academic session 2022-23 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in July.

The Commission informed that application for CUET UG will be available in 1st week of April 2022. The entrance test will be conducted online in 13 languages namely Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Odia and English.

As per the UGC notice, Class 12 board examination marks will not have any bearing on the admission of the students.

UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar informed on Monday that the syllabus of the CUET will be mirrored with the Class 12 syllabus of the NCERT.

The Commission has ruled that it will be mandatory for the 45 central universities to adopt CUET for admission to undergraduate courses, however, for PG admissions, varsities will have the flexibility to use CUET scores.

State, private and deemed to be universities are also allowed to use CUET scores for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions.

The entrance test will have three sections and will be conducted in two shifts. Detailed structure of CUET UG is available on NTA website https://nta.ac.in
