She later joined Bhopal’s Lakshmi Narain College of Technology and completed her B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. However, instead of becoming an engineer, she chose to start her UPSC preparations. She was in school when the IAS bug had bitten her.

Srushti studied for 6-7 hours daily and relied heavily on online resources for her preparations. While she finds the internet as an excellent source of knowledge and information, she also warns students against its overuse as there are plenty of distractions.

Unlike other aspirants shifting to Delhi for the preparations, Srushti prepared well at home and her hard work finally paid off. Out of the 759 candidates who qualified UPSC civil services exam in 2018, 182 were women. And Srushti was the topper among the 182 women candidates.

She believes consistency in preparation is the key to cracking the UPSC exam. Her success is indeed stupendous considering the fact she was only 23 and is one of the youngest aspirants to have fulfilled the IAS dream.
