A sweeper’s son who used to check copies of aspirants at a coaching centre has successfully cleared the recently announced UPSC CSE 2023. Despite severe lack of resources and financial constraints, Prashant Suresh Bhojane of Thane in Maharashtra has cleared the toughest exam.

He has secured All India Rank (849) in the Civil Services Exam (CSE) 2023 final result that was declared on April 16, 2024. As per a DNA report, it took him nine attempts to finally see his dream come true. Despite failing for eight times, Bhojane continued relentlessly and never lost hope.

His unwavering dedication and sheer would give him the power to re-start every time he faced failure, and it serves as a beacon of hope for those who tend to give up after facing failures in a couple of attempts. Back-to-back, he faced eight straight failures, but his never give up attitude took him to the level he has reached now.

Prashant’s mother works as a sweeper in the civic body in Maharashtra’s Thane. His father is also a Class IV employee in the same civic body, DNA India reported. An engineering graduate, Prashant always wanted to become an IAS officer and ease off his parents struggling days.

However, due to financial constraints, he had to take up part-time jobs to ease up the struggles of his parents. During the day, he would check mock exam papers of students and studied at night. This continued for years, however, Prashant could not clear the UPSC exam.

Mocked and humiliated by friends, relatives and villagers, Prashant continued with his effort. At one point of time, even his parents lost all hope and asked him to give up. However, he was determined that he would achieve his goal one day.

All his hard work has now paid off and he is all set to become a civil servant.
