Summer holidays in Odisha schools extended 

The Odisha government has extended the summer vacation in schools. The schools under the School and Mass Education Department will reopen on June 21 as against the earlier reopening scheduled on June 19. 

The School and Mass Education Department informed this through a letter. 

“The government after careful consideration has been pleased to reopen the schools under the School and Mass Education department on 21.06.2023,” read the letter.

It is to be noted here that the summer vacation for the schools commenced on May 5 and was scheduled to end on June 18 and the schools were to reopen on June 19. According to sources, due to the prevailing heat wave across the state, a decision has been taken to extend the holidays.
