Students protest outside UPPSC office against decision to conduct PCS RO, ARO exams in 2 days
Lakhs of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) aspirants continued to lay siege to the Commission’s headquarters, protesting against the commission's decision to conduct the PCS (preliminary) and RO/ARO exams in two days.
The aspirants are up in arms against the concept of normalization to evaluate the answer sheets. The agitating students have been demanding ‘one day, one exam’. Demanding a rollback to the earlier practice of holding the tests on a single day, the students are sitting on protest for the fourth day straight. They have warned to not buckle down until their demands are met.
Since the commission decided to conduct preliminary exams on two separate days and in multiple shifts, the formula of normalization was introduced to standardise the evaluation process. However, the aspirants are protesting against both – holding exams on two days and normalization.
Thousands of UPPCS aspirants are protesting outside the UPPSC office in Prayagraj, demanding the RO/ARO exam be held in a single shift on one day. UPPSC’s plan for two shifts has raised concerns over fairness, normalization, and delays.
