Special Offline Matric Exams To Be Held On 70 Per Cent Syllabus: Odisha Minister

Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the evaluation of marks of students in the matriculation examination, Odisha School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash on Friday said that the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will conduct special board examinations for class 10 students on offline mode from July 30.

Dash said that the examinations will be held under strict observance of Covid-19 protocols and will be completed by August 5, 2021.

The State government has appealed students, who are not be satisfied with the marks, to appear the offline exams.

“We assure the students that BSE will take appropriate measures to publish the results of the special offline exams within 15 days time. The students will not face any problems in Plus II admissions,” said Dash.

Dash further clarified that as the special offline examination will be held based on 70% syllabus as already 30% syllabus has been reduced.

After the results are announced, there will be an option for the students to upload marks on the SAMS portal for Plus II admissions, the minister said.

Earlier, the BSE had announced that the interested candidates can fill up the forms for the exams through online mode between July 5 and July 14. The BSE has declared that students will not have to pay any fees for appearing the examinations.
