Every media house has a responsibility to provide correct news and without any propaganda and agenda, said Litisha Mangat Panda, Digital-Business Head OTV Network.

While speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a workshop organised to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of Biju Pattnaik Film & Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO), Panda congratulated the entire team and alumnus of the institute.

“The institute has been constantly evolving with new courses including digital media and adapting to change, which is constant,” said Panda.

Speaking about OTV, she further said that the goal of the news channel is to give its viewers what they want. “As a news and media organisation, we have a lot of responsibility to use it in the right way and the viewers expect us to provide news without any propaganda and agenda. This is the underlying factor for every media house and professional,” she added.

Sambad Kanak News Editor Tanaya Patnaik, who also attended the event, said, “Change is happening very fast. But digital is the future and we should be ready to accept the change as quickly as possible. There should be a balance of theory and practical in any course. Apart from this, training should be given to students keeping in view digital media in focus,” said Patnaik.

Rakesh Das, a teacher said, “It is a matter of pride that we are celebrating 25 glorious years in three days event. The Odisha government is extending its cooperation under the skill development programme. The diploma course here has been upgraded as well.”
