Ishani Debnath
In a rare and extraordinary accomplishment that has captured the attention of the entire nation, Ishani Debnath, a student of Delhi Public School, Bopal, has emerged as the CBSE Class 12 Topper not just in India, but globally. What sets her achievement apart is the flawless execution of her academic journey: a perfect 100 in all subjects.
At a time when academic pressures are sky-high, Ishani’s feat is nothing short of phenomenal. She has not only aced the Humanities stream but has redefined the benchmark of scholastic success.
Ishani’s road to the top began back in Grade 8, when she joined DPS Bopal. After scoring an impressive 97.2% in Class 10, she followed her passion and chose the Humanities stream. Her success wasn’t the product of aiming for the top, but a natural outcome of her commitment to learning.
“I never aimed to be a topper — I simply followed my interests and gave my best. What I learned along the way was the importance of consistency, even on the tough days. This journey, supported by my school, teachers, and family, taught me resilience above all. Seeing my name at the top was surreal. It was not luck — it was the result of effort, belief, and the constant encouragement and mentorship of my teachers. I am deeply grateful to all my subject teachers who guided me every step of the way,” she said.
She attributes her triumph to resilience, consistency, and strong mentorship, not luck. Her heartfelt gratitude towards her teachers reflects her humility despite her historic accomplishment.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 12 results on Tuesday, reporting an overall pass percentage of 88.4%, up slightly from 88% last year.
This year, 16.9 lakh students appeared for the exams, compared to 16.2 lakh in 2024. The number of students scoring above 95% rose to 24,867, while those scoring above 90% slightly dipped to 1.1 lakh from 1.2 lakh last year.
Ishani Debnath’s unparalleled success story is more than a celebration of academic brilliance; it is a testament to what passion, perseverance, and guided support can achieve. Her name is now etched in the records of CBSE history, inspiring countless students to dream big and work hard.
Her story is not just about marks, it's about mindset, mentorship, and the magic of believing in oneself.
