Only 1 Indian institute in top 200 in THE World University Rankings 2024 by Subject

The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024 were announced on Thursday. Surprisingly, no Indian institute has found a place among the top 100 in the rankings 'by Subject'.

The US and the UK dominate the rankings with as many universities from both the countries featuring in THE World University rankings.

In Arts and humanities, and Business and economics, the Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of United States top the table respectively.

In Clinical and health, and Computer science disciplines, UK's University of Oxford leads the chart.

Education: University of California, Berkeley United States

Engineering: Harvard University, United States

Law: Harvard University, United States

Life sciences: Harvard University, United States

Physical sciences: California Institute of Technology, United States

Psychology: Stanford University, United States

Social sciences: Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University, United States

Meanwhile, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore is the only institute from the country that has been featured among the top 200. The Indian institute has got the 201-250 bracket for Life Sciences and Physical Sciences subjects.
