The Odisha government has directed to conduct spot admissions for Plus-2 courses in the State through online mode. As per a directive from the Higher Secondary Education Directorate, some changes have been made to SAMS (e-Admission) application for the academic session 2023-24.

The department has proposed SPOT selection admission through online mode instead of physical mode registration as practiced previously.

Online spot selection information will be shared through WhatsApp or SMSes. Candidates who have not opted for e-Admission (+2/ITI/Diploma) will be tracked and an SMS will be sent to those mobile numbers for creating awareness.

A notification informing the development read, “The candidate's data related to the 10th pass Board Name, Year of Passing, Roll Number, and Exam type (Regular/Supplementary) must match with the SAMS database. The applicant will not be able to fill out or submit the CAF if there is a mismatch in the given data. However, the system will only let the applicants update the marks-related discrepancy.”

The overall pass percentage in this year’s matric exam results that was published on May 18 stood at 96.40% compared to 90.55% last year.

The pass percentage of girl students stood at 97.05% while it was 95.75% for boys. As many as 4,158 students got A1, 29838 (A2), 77567 (B1) and 118750 students were accorded B2 grades.

At least 1,904 boys have scored over 90% and above while 2,254 girls have scored above 90%. Similarly, among SC candidates, the pass percentage of boys is 93.36% while SC girls once again outshined the boys with 95.08% success rate.
