In a major announcement, the Odisha  School and Mass Education Department on Thursday said that the physical or offline classes for Class 8 and Class 11 students in the State will commence after the Dussehra vacations.

The physical classes for Class 9 and Class 12 students are already being conducted in the State in compliance with Covid-19 guidelines with students having been given the option of attending classes online.

 

Earlier in the day, State School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that schools for Class 1 to 8 students may reopen in Odisha after the Puja holidays if the Covid-19 situation improved.

"Let’s hope that the situation improves and physical classes for the rest of the students resume after the Puja holidays. Till the time the schools are not opened, online classes will continue," Dash said.
