The Matric summative-1 examinations for class 10 students in Odisha will start on November 23, and continue till November 30, informed the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) officials on Friday.

The students of the high school certificate examination can download their admit cards from the official BSE Odisha website from today onwards. The Madhyama and the State Open School students can download their admit cards from November 17.

BSE vice-president Nihar Ranjan Mohanty informed that the practical examination will begin on November 11, and continue till November 18, 2022.

Over 5.32 lakh students will appear for the Matric summative assessment-1 examination which will be conducted at 3029 centres across Odisha.

Adequate measures have been taken for the safe custody of question paper and other confidential materials in 316 nodal centres.

According to Mohanty, the BSE decided to upload admit cards early as practicals for vocational will start from November 11 to November 18 in 1012 schools.

Similarly, to resolve various issues including subject change by students (mainly in third language) which was earlier creating problems in processing results. The students can now change subjects, name and caste change by November 17.

Apart from this, the BSE will provide another link to all the 8900 schools where they can know the number of students who have filled up forms and where they have been tagged. The school authorities can also know if the school has been made a nodal centre or evaluation centre from the same link.

Earlier, the Odisha government has revised the syllabus of Class 9 and 10 and introduced Disaster Management and Pandemic Management in the high school curriculum from 2022-23 academic session.

“We have also provided details regarding the physically handicapped students who applied for scribe online. Such students can directly come to the centre where superintendents have made provision for scribe. Those who have not applied for scribe online, they can request through deputy secretary,” said Mohanty.

The BSE official further said that the external examiner’s appointment order has also been uploaded in the link provided. Guidelines for functioning of the nodal centre, instructions to centre superintendents have also been uploaded in the BSE Odisha website.
