Putting all speculations to rest, Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday said that the results of the annual matriculation examinations will be announced by the last week of June.

According to Dash, already the process of evaluation is underway. “We are hopeful to publish the results within the stipulated time frame which was earlier announced.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the Odisha government last month had cancelled the annual HSC Matric examinations following the rise in Covid-19 cases in the State.

Such decision came after scores of students expressed resentment owing to the delay on part of the government to take any decision on matriculation examination.

Later, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha announced the alternative method of assessment to award marks to Class 10 students. As per the announcement, the evaluation of marks will be done based on the class 9 and 10 examinations.

The assessment of will carried out by considering the marks secured by a candidate in half-yearly and annual exam in class 9 and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th practice tests in class 10. Board will take into consideration the two highest marks in each subject from the three practice tests conducted in Class-X. 40% weightage will be given to highest marks secured in Class-IX.

Two highest marks in all subject out of three practice tests conducted in Class-X will be given weightage of 30% each. In case any candidate has appeared in only one practice test, then 70% weightage will be given in the mark secured in Class-IX examinations (half yearly and annual).
