Clearing all speculations surrounding the annual Matriculation examination, the Odisha government on Friday announced that the dates for the conduct of the crucial board examinations.

Odisha Chief Secretary, Suresh Mohapatra said that the matriculation or the high school certificate examination (HSC) will begin from April 29 and conclude on May 6, 2022.

Mohapatra said that the summative assessment-2 exam for the students will be mandatory and the matriculation results will be published based on a three-tier evaluation criteria fixed by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

According to Mohapatra, the State government has come up several measures to provide relief to students keeping in view the impact of Covid-19 on the mental-health of the children by coming up with the alternative assessment system.

As per the decisions, the students will appear in one subject in one day instead of the two sittings. Similarly, the students will appear the crucial examination in their own schools. Such decision has been taken to ensure that the students do not waste time or face any inconvenience.

However, if the conduct of the examination is not feasible in own school, then provision will be made to ensure that the students appear the exam in a nearby school. School teachers from other schools will be deployed during the examinations.
