With the announcement of the Matriculation or the High School Certificate (HSC) examination, Plus 2 students on Friday urged the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) to come up with the Class 12 exam dates as soon as possible.

While urging the Odisha government to look into their concerns, the students said that early announcement of the Plus 2 exam dates will help them concentrate in their preparations for the crucial exam.

"Delay in the announcement of our Class 12 exam dates will only add to our confusion till the dates are announced. The government should at least announce the date," said a Plus 2 student.

Results of Class 12 exam plays an important role in a student's career and, hence, there should not be any further delay in the declaration of dates, said another student, adding, "From OJEE, JEE to NEET, we have to appear for a lot of exams after Class 12. The government should pay heed to our concerns."

Meanwhile, the president of Utkal Abhibhabak Sangha, Krushna Chandra Pati, said that the State government should positively announce the Class 12 exam dates as it will help students get out the stress they are presently going through.

"It's necessary that the government takes into account their concern at the earliest," Pati added.

On the other hand, the Odisha government on Friday announced that the Class 10 exams will commence on April 29 and end on May 6, 2022.

Announcing the dates, Odisha Chief Secretary, Suresh Mohapatra said the summative assessment-2 exam for the students will be mandatory and the results will be published based on a three-tier evaluation criteria fixed by the BSE.
