The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the plea seeking cancellation of offline examinations for Classes 10 and 12 conducted by CBSE, CISCE and other state boards.

Hearing the plea filed by a child rights activist and a students’ union from Odisha, a three-judge panel consisting of Justice AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and CT Ravikumar observed that such petitions mislead students and create a false hope.

The SC bench further said that the authorities in state boards, which are yet to frame scheme similar to CBSE, will take decision at appropriate time.

Meanwhile, the decision of the Apex Court has sparked a meme fest on Twitter with many welcoming the decision while others once again raising their concerns over the conduct of exams in offline mode.

"SC is right when they said “Petitions like this confuses students”. All of this fiasco just gave false hope and distracted students for almost 3 days when instead they could’ve used this time to study," wrote a Twitterati.

An user wrote, "Wonderful Decision 👏👏 Do not understand at all the Logic of cancellation of Offline exams! Looks like parents also openly supporting rampant cheating happening during ONLINE exams and want their kids to score 90s without studying!"

"Respect for Supreme Court. Education and Educational Institutions should be kept isolated from Politics. Who are the culprits seeking plea? Should be fined with heavy amount. Lawyers too be penalized, be kept from practice for a year," wrote another user.

Here are a few memes shared by Twitter users soon after the SC dismissed the plea to cancel CBSE and other state boards’ offline exams:
