NIRF Ranking 2024
The Ministry of Education on Monday released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings for 2024, with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan presenting the results at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
In the overall rankings, IIT Madras maintains its top spot, followed by IISc Bangalore in second and IIT Bombay in third. This year’s NIRF rankings feature 16 categories, including universities, colleges, research institutions, and specialized fields such as engineering, management, and medicine. New rankings for state, skill, and open universities have also been introduced.

In the management category, the rankings remain unchanged at the top, with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad leading, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode. IIT Delhi has advanced to fourth place, surpassing IIM Calcutta, which now holds the fifth position.

The NIRF rankings are determined based on parameters such as teaching, learning, and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception. The methodology for these rankings was developed by the Core Committee established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
