A record 18.72 lakh candidates across the country and abroad are scheduled to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) today.

NEET is scheduled to held at 497 cities throughout the country and 14 cities outside India. The exam will begin from 2 PM and conclude at 5:20 PM today.

NEET-UG is the qualifying entrance exam for admissions into MBBS, BDS, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and many more medicine courses.

The NEET exam will be conducted at 24 centres in Odisha. Around 12, 516 candidates will appear in the examination at 18 centres in Bhubaneswar. Already the process of allowing candidates inside respective examination centres started from 11 am today.

Earlier, National Testing Agency (NTA) had issued instructions for the candidates regarding the things that they need to follow before reaching their respective examination centres.

What to carry:

Candidates must carry any one of the original and valid photo identification proof issued by the government. It includes, PAN card, Driving License, Aadhaar, Voter ID, 12th class board admit or registration card/ passport. All other ID/photocopies of IDs even if attested/scanned photo of IDs in mobile phones will not be considered as valid ID proof.

Candidates will be allowed to carry the following items into the examination venue:

-Personal transparent water bottle.

-Additional photograph same as uploaded on the application form, which you need to paste on an attendance sheet.

-Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml)

-Admit card along with self-declaration (undertaking) with postcard size photograph affixed on the designated space (page 2) downloaded from NTA website.

Things not allowed: Personal belongings including electronic devices, mobile phones and other banned/prohibited items listed in the information bulletin.
