Utkal University signs MoU with Boston's Northeastern University
Utkal University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Northeastern University, Boston to promote student entrepreneurship and innovation.
As part of this initiative, new centres will be established to support the program. A total of 3,000 students will be enrolled in this program at Utkal University, which is open to both postgraduate (PG) and undergraduate (UG) students.
Additionally, affiliated colleges under Utkal University will also have the opportunity to enrol students.
Reportedly, ten university students in each academic year will participate in an educational tour aimed at enhancing their knowledge.
Utkal University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sabita Acharya stated, “The New Education Policy (NEP) 2024 aims to integrate vocational education into the school system to assist students in becoming skilled workers and entrepreneurs.”
She emphasized that the university serves as a resource to inspire students to pursue further education in entrepreneurship.
Under the previous Vice-Chancellor's guidance, steps were taken to establish innovation and startup parks in the university. Utkal University will also implement teacher and student exchange programs. Funding for this initiative will be provided by the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Uchhatar Siksha Abhiyan (PM-RUSA) 2.0.
