She is an IIT graduate who left her high-paying job to crack the UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE) that too without any coaching. With a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Technology in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Delhi she is one of the most admired brilliant minds of the country.
She even impressed Amitabh Bachchan, the Shahenshaah of Bollywood, with her smartness and intelligence. Well, we are talking about none other than IAS Aashima Goyal. Her success story is so inspiring that even Bollywood celebrities are becoming her fans.
The daughter of a cyber café owner and a housewife, Aashima is a native of Ballabgarh town in Haryana. She has been an excellent student since childhood and topped all the examinations. The talented girl topped both her Boards and Intermediate and went on to pursue her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Technology in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Delhi.
She then secured a high-paying corporate job in Bengaluru. However, it was her call to prepare for UPSC and become an IAS officer. Her first attempt was in 2018, but she failed to make it to the final list.
Determined, she left her high-paying job to solely focus on her preparations. She continued to focus on self-studies without any coaching and successfully cracked UPSC with an impressive AIR-65 to become an IAS officer in 2019, in her second attempt.
As per reports, Aashima dedicated 9-10 hours daily to her studies and focused on her weak points in the UPSC syllabus. She was initially posted in the Kerala cadre on her appointment. She later took the inter-cadre transfer after her marriage with IFS officer Rahul Mishra in 2022 and then shifted to Uttarakhand cadre.
It was her appearance in Big B’s popular show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ where she featured on the show via video call to help a contestant named Abhinav Singh. She answered the question in just five seconds, which amazed Big B who could not stop praising her talent.
