You must have seen actors and actresses portraying the role of an IPS or IAS officer in reel life. It’s rare for an actor or actress to leave the glamorous world and become a civil servant in real life.

However, IAS Keerthana, who was once a well-known child actress left the glamorous world to fulfill her dream of becoming an IAS officer. Well, her journey is full of inspiration and a perfect example for several aspiring youngsters.

HS Keerthana was a popular child artist both in movies and TV shows. She worked in several daily soaps like ‘Karpoorade Gombe’, ‘Ganga-Yamuna’, ‘Muddina Aliya’, ‘Upendra, ‘Circle Inspector’, and a lot more.

She managed both her studies and acting from her school days. She continued her passion for acting even after her graduation. However, it was her childhood dream to become an IAS officer. So, she started her preparation soon after her graduation.

However, it wasn’t a bed of roses for her to fulfill both her acting commitments and prepare for the UPSC exam simultaneously. Despite every effort, she failed to crack the UPSC exam at least five times. 

Every time she was faced with rejection and failure. However, her hard work and sincere efforts finally paid off on her sixth attempt. She secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR)-167 on her sixth attempt and was selected for the position of Assistant Commissioner in Mandya district, Karnataka.

She is an inspiration for many as she managed to balance both her acting career and pursuing her dream of becoming an IAS officer. Her story teaches us that with determination and hard work, we can achieve anything in this world even when faced with challenges.
