The student wing of Congress party alleged conspiracy in absenteeism of thousands of students in the annual class 10 board examinations and demanded fresh conduct of the test for those who opted out of it.

Addressing a presser, Congress spokesperson Amiya Panda demanded that the examination of students who remained absent in the Class 10 Summative 2 examinations be conducted on a fresh date.

He claimed that every year thousands of students fail to appear in the matriculation examination due to financial constraints.

He accused the government of hiding the dropout rate and demanded action against those who are responsible for the situation that caused absenteeism of the huge number of students.

The State Congress of Odisha has threatened a massive agitation if the government fails to act in this regard.

“If the State government does not act to address the issue and help put the future of students back on track immediately, we will assume that the government is indulged in a conspiracy against the young minds,” said Panda

“And thus we will not remain silent. In order to expose the government, Odisha Chhatra Congress will hit the streets in coming days,” he added.
