Thousands of aspirants spend years preparing for India’s toughest UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE). Despite years of hard work and preparation, only a handful of aspirants manage to crack the UPSC exam.

While many give up after failing to crack in their first few attempts, there are a few who do not give up and try to give their best till their last attempt. One such name is IAS Aashna Chaudhary. Despite failing to crack in her first two attempts, Aashna did not give up.

Instead, she chose to change her strategy and focused more rather than being dejected by her failure. However, perseverance, determination, and hard work finally paid off on her third attempt and she secured an amazing AIR-116.

After graduating from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University with a BA honours in English literature, Aashna began her UPSC journey. She knew from the very beginning that IAS was her calling. So, she started her preparations after her graduation.

A native of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, Aashna is the daughter of a professor. After completing her graduation, she pursued her Master’s degree in International Relations from the South Asian University. She also worked with an NGO that helps in educating underprivileged children, DNA India reported.

While Aashna worked and did her Master’s, she took time from her busy schedule and prepared for the UPSC exam. She appeared for the exam in 2020 for the first time but could not clear it.

Instead of getting dejected, she studied more and appeared for the second time again. However, she failed to crack the exam in her second attempt as well. However, this time her performance improved and she was held back by only 2.5 marks.

Aashna then changed her preparation strategy and subsequently cleared all the stages of the UPSC exam with 992 marks on her third attempt with an AIR-116.
