Cracking the UPSC Civil Services Exam is certainly not a cakewalk. It requires years of dedication, unrelenting effort, commitment, determination, and consistency. It takes a lot more than just hard work to crack UPSC, one of India’s toughest exams.

Today, we present to you the inspiring journey of IPS officer Anshika Verma from being an engineer to cracking UPSC without any formal coaching. Yes, you read that right! The dashing IPS officer cracked the UPSC only through self-studies and maximum practice without any coaching.

Anshika hails from Prayagraj in UP. After completing her elementary school in Noida, she attended Galgotia College of Engineering and Technology in Noida for a B.Tech. She received a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering after which she began her journey for UPSC.

Instead of attending coaching, the young energetic IPS officer fully devoted herself to UPSC preparations and overcame all obstacles to fulfill her dream of becoming an IPS officer. However, despite her hard work, she could not make it to the qualifying list in her first attempt.

However, this did not dishearten her. Instead, she worked even harder and it finally paid off. She scored an impressive AIR 136 on her second attempt and preferred to become an IPS officer.

Speaking to Hello Scholar, Anshika opened up on her strategy and said, “Every candidate should prepare according to their own strategy because everyone’s weaknesses and strengths are different.”

She further added that it was because of maximum practice and revision that she was able to crack the exam. Apart from being a brilliant mind, Anshika is known for her gorgeous looks and can give any Bollywood actress a run for their money.
