After remaining shut for almost four months, physical classes for Class 9 students resumed in all government, government-aided and private educational institutions in Odisha from Monday with strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines issued by the State Health & Family Welfare Department and the SRC-cum-ACS (DM).

Hostels for Class 9 students also opened from August 16, as directed by the School and Mass Education (S&ME) department earlier.

As per the directives, thermal screening of students, hand sanitising, wearing of masks and social distancing in classrooms are being strictly followed in all government, government-aided and private schools across the State to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection.

The teaching hours for Class-IX students will be from 9 am to 12.30 pm, except on Sundays and Public Holidays. However, the students are allowed to attend classes either on online mode or offline mode in consultation with their parents.

Earlier, physical classes for Class 10 and 12 students resumed across Odisha on July 26 after a gap of more than three months due to the restrictions enforced to contain spread of Covid-19.

Here's a look at various schools that reopened today after a hiatus of four long months:
